Gaza: Assault on Egypt FM arouses repercussion

Sheikh Nafiz Azzam, a leading figure of the Islamic Jihad, told that this assault was a retaliation against Maher’s visit to Sharon while Israeli attacks was continuing against Palestinian civilians."The assault could be carried out after Palestinian worshippers had been provocated during the prayer." Azzam said.
Ziyad Abd al-Fettah, General Director of Palestine News Agency, stated both Palestinian asnd Israelis should claim responsibility of the assault. "Palestinians were praying at the Al-Aqsa mosque compound when the assault was carried out. However, Jerusalem has been under Israeli control." said al-Fettah.
