FT: EU Membership a Tough Balance for Erdogan

The paper reiterated that the discussion of Turkey’s pending candidacy would gain more importance within the next six months. This membership, should it be approved, will be the toughest enlargement in the Union’s history. Especially when Turkey’s size and economic development is considered.

The Financial Times editorial states that E.U. membership will create an impetus for economic, political and social reforms.
