FM Gul to visit Azerbaijan and Iran on Jan 9

Foreign Ministry issued a statement and said Gul will visit Azerbaijan as the guest of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Vilayat Quliyev. Gul is expected to be received by Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Murtuz Aleskerov, Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, Deputy Prime Minister Abid Sharifov, and Foreign Minister Quliyev.

Gul will also meet with business circles of Azerbaijan and Turkish businessmen acting in Azerbaijan.

Recent regional developments in Southern Caucus as well as issues concerning the two countries are expected to be discussed during the talks.

Gul will pay a visit to Iran on January 10. Gul will convey Turkey’s condolences for those who lost their lives in quake disaster in Iran and express Turkey’s feeling of solidarity to Iranian authorities.

Bilateral relations as well as regional and international issues are also expected to be discussed during the visit.

Gul is expected to return to Turkey on January 11.
