Floods Disrupt Life in Antalya, Turkey
A bridge in the Akdamlar district near the city center was destroyed by flood water, resulting in the submersion of homes in the surrounding residential area. Many people are unable to leave their homes. Emergency teams have initiated rescue efforts.
Three people in the Doyran district and two in the Karatepe district have been reported missing. Search and rescue operations are continuing for the missing people. A farmer who was trying to bail water out of his greenhouse was electrocuted and died.
Bulldozers and trucks have been deployed to the region to assist in search and rescue operations. Onlookers watched in amazement as the powerful storm destroyed shop windows and billboards. Four of the five bakeries located in the village of Kuzdere, which has become isolated from the rest of the city due to the storm, has caused a significant bread shortage.
