Fenerbahçe talk with River Plate
BUENOS AIRES (SOCCERWAY) – Board members of Fenerbahçe are in Argentina, having conversations with River Plate for trying to find a solution for the conflict of the player Ariel Ortega who left from Turkey and has been sanctioned by the FIFA.
The official Hakan Kuplualp had a meeting with the vice president of River Plate Mario Israel in the last hours, in Buenos Aires, but nobody wanted to say what they have been discussing.
Ortega can’t play football officialy, in any part of the world until Dcember 31, but it’s not coincidental that there is a board member of Fenerbahçe in Buenos Aires.
It seems to be that River are decided to pay some money for finding the solution to the problem that Ortega has with the Turkish team, so if Fenerbahçe accept, FIFA would end the sanction on the player.
Ortega has said several times that the only team in which he wants to play is River and now that Marcelo Salas and Marcelo Gallardo have returned to the team he is even more motivated to be a part of the team of the Chilean coach, Manuel Pellegrini.
