Erdogan in Rome: We Are Part of the Family

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in the statement he made, gave the message, "We are part of the family".

Erdogan also stated that Turkey supports the definition of ‘qualified majority’ and wants this technique to be expanded.

"A commission, including commissioners that do not have the right to vote, should be preferred to a formation in which all member countries are not represented. This should be carried out in line with the principles of equality and justice."

The Prime Minister also voiced his support for a European Security and Defence Policy (ESDP) and a foreign affairs post for the administration of joint European foreign policy.

The Union should have the capability to activate military and civilian means through the ESDP said Erdogan, and Turkey supports the study of such a plan.

Erdogan also stated that Turkey should improve its current ties its NATO allies
