End of Annan Plan in Cyprus

Denktas said that the Annan plan was prepared with the contributions of British Special Cyprus Envoy Sir David Hannay, U.S. Department of State Special Coordinator for Cyprus Thomas Weston and former Greek Attorney General Alekos Markides. "The plan was structured for adaptation to the Loizidou case," he claimed.

Pointing out that no consideration had been given to the Turks who had immigrated from southern Cyprus but couldn’t return there again, Denktas said, "De Soto didn’t even once deign to go to a Turkish village in the south and visit the places where Greek Cypriots had destroyed Turkish houses so completely that the Turks wouldn’t ever be able to return."
