Efes Pilsen Down Olympiakos on Road

After an impressive away win over Benetton last week, Efes Pilsen now stand a good chance of proceeding to the second round.

Efes, finishing the first quarter 19-18 behind, then capitalized after three early fouls by Nikolic and some good play from Alper. However, the first half ended 31-30 to the Greeks.

Efes started the second half with a flurry. In the third period, the Albanian Ermal scored 12 points. The fourth quarter started with Efes ahead 47-45.

Coach Oktay Mahmuti and his players left Abdi Ipekci with a 61-52 victory. After Ulker, who dropped only 53 points to Rome the earlier this week, Efes also showed discipline in defense with only 52 points scored against them.
