ECHR Finds Turkey Rightful in Turban Case
University students Zeynep Tekin and Leyla Sahin had complained against Turkey in 1998 saying that their denial to university because of the turban, was a human rights violation. Both Islamic head-geared girls had received disciplinary punishments for insisting to enter class with their turban. Tekin had then withdrew her petition.
The attorneys of Sahin have the right to appeal the verdict.
