Denktas was one of the Turkish world’s national heroes

Led by Hisarciklioglu, the TOBB Administration Council was received separately by TRNC President Rauf Denktas and Prime Minister Dervis Eroglu.

Holding a joint press conference with Denktas, Hisarciklioglu called on Cypriot businessmen to support the TRNC President.

Hisarciklioglu pointed out that Denktas was one of the Turkish world’s national heroes and that a solution for the Cyprus problem could only materialise with his contribution, experience, and statesmanship.

Hisarciklioglu added that success in Cyprus depended on the capability of Cypriot Turks to handle the economic burdens that a solution would bring. He criticised the Annan plan for not supporting the Turkish side enough. He said that existing capital on the island should be invested to better prepare Turkish Cypriots for the future of the island.
