Denktas: Presentation Of A Third Plan By The United Nations Is Probable
Noting that they had exchanged views about the map, which was presented by the United Nations, President Denktas told reporters, ”if the Greek Cypriot side does not bring their sine qua non onto agenda of Wednesday’s meeting, we will convey our views about the map in a more detailed way.”
Responding a question about allegations saying that United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan might present a third plan to the sides in the island, President Denktas said, ”we have not received yet any official information about a third plan. However, presentation of a third plan by the United Nations is probable. I do not know whether or not the United Nations will present a new map in its new plan.”
”Our sine qua non is sovereignty, equality and Turkey’s guarantee. We think that a new migration should be prevented. If a migration cannot be prevented, it should be limited. After the Greek Cypriot side presents its sine qua non, I will call on our parliament to hold a session,” he added.
