Denktas Might Withdraw from Talks

A reliable source said that Denktas had done all he can but the steps he will take after this points will contradict his views about the Annan Plan.

“Because no compromise was reached between the two sides, foursome talks will begin on March 22 as the UN Secretary General stated. To avoid the appearance of being the side deserting the table, Denktas will carry out talk until that date. If no result is attained until March 22, Denktas might desert the table. In that case, Prime Minister Talat and Deputy PM Serdar Denktas will represent TRNC,” the source said.

Similarly, PM Talat and Deputy PM Denktas implied, at their meeting in Ankara with Foreign Minister Gul that, President Denktas might desert the talks.
