Denktas had to be in summit at Cankaya Palace
ANKARA (AA) – Democratic Left Party (DSP) leader Bulent Ecevit said today that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Rauf Denktas also had to be invited to attend the meeting.
Addressing a press conference he held to announce his party’s candidates for mayority, Ecevit said, “TRNC President had to be invited to the Cyprus summit while upper level studies are being evaluated, however the leaders have not felt need to invite him. They have thought that Denktas can be called to the National Security Council (NSC) meeting but it’s weeks later.”
“We are face to face with a condition having priority. For that reason, Denktas had to be in that meeting since we pass from a very sensitive and important process,” he said.
