Denktas: December elections will be a turning point

LEFKOSA (AA) – As the time is close for presidential election in Turkish Cyprus, the sides are increasing the dose of blaming towards each other.

Turkish Cypriot President Rauf Denktas said today that the election which would be held in December would be polls of fate and he believed in that his people would vote considering the reality.

About the opposition, Denktas stated that the European Union had been paying money to opposition parties to win the elections and he added that any wrongness which would be done during polls couldn’t be corrected.

Attending to seminer on "Woman in 21th century" Denktas stressed that it was fairness to show that the Cyprus issue was an obstacle in front of Turkey’s EU membership.

He added, "We also want to enter the EU, but he can’t trust in the Union for it treated unfairly to Turkish Cypriots."

Denktas stated that he also desired a compromise in Cyprus but for an accord truths had to be accepted by international world.
