Defense and military cooperation between Turkey and Brazil

Officials said both countries have been identifying areas of cooperation in both the military and defense sectors. They said this could include joint weapons projects for the two militaries.

The agreement to examine defense and military cooperation was reported during a visit by Brazilian Defense Minister Jose Viegas Filho to Turkey. Filho visited Ankara in November and discussed a range of joint aerospace projects.

"There is room to improve the technology base from our common ground," Filho told the Turkish Daily News. "This should pave the way for the joint development of defense equipment."
