Cyprus: TRNC PM casts vote

LEFKOSA (AA) – Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Prime Minister and Republican Turkish Party (CTP) leader Mehmet Ali Talat said on Saturday that both the Turkish and the Greek Cypriot communities will decide today on their future.

“This is a historical day,” Talat said while casting his vote for the United Nations sponsored Cyprus plan.

Stating that his expectations are through living in better days, Talat said, “All Cypriots should live in a better and peaceful world. We cast our votes for this today and we will continue our efforts to gain this.”

“We aim to create a country in Cyprus that would not face the pains lived in the past. For this reason, both the Turkish and Greek Cypriots will decide through their own will,” he said.
