Cyprus Membership Violated E.U. Principles

Le Monde Brussels Bureau Chief Arnaud Leparmentier wrote the article. The article said that the E.U. leaders engaged in discrimination by accepting Cypriot Greeks to the Union. Leparmentier claims that the E.U. backpedaled on its own principles with that decision.

The paper also referred to developments about Turkey’s membership. It reported that since officially accepting Turkey’s application for membership in 1999, Turkey has registered developments beyond the wildest dreams.
