Cypriot Turks Supply Water to Greeks for Years
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Ergogan paid an important visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus a few days ago, giving special attention to the water transport project. Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Yorgo Papandreou commented on the matter recently, saying, "Turkey may solve the water problem of the Aegean Islands." The minister went on to laud the valuable potential for continued cooperation in the matter. Veysel Eroglu, General Manager of the State Waterworks Authority, recently pointed out that it was planned to transport water to Greek Islands and Cyprus via tankers.
