Customs Union Agreement With TRNC Withdrawn

News had been leaked that during his talks with European Union (EU) Ambassadors in Ankara, the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdullah Gul had called the draft, "an agreement with no content," and stipulated that the Agreement would not be brought to the Parliament.

In other news, the U.S. administration has requested that Athens and Ankara cancel their Toros and Toksotis military maneuvers on the island. The Greek Cypriot Filelephtheros newspaper had reproted that the U.S. made the request in the interests of not spoiling the positive atmosphere on the island.
