Copper Mine Found in Elazig

The ministry said MTA teams, who have surveyed the region since 2000, found high a concentration of copper in the sand and started drilling. Copper ore was found at depths of 52,9m.

Then, after the second and third drilling, there were determined to be potential copper reserves of 2,7 million tons in the area.

MTA General Director Ali Kemal Isiker commented on the significance of the find and stated that the drilling in the region continued. He added that geological, geochemical and geophysical data was presently being evaluated.
