Controversy on Turbanned Advisers in Parliament
Erdogan Yetenc, the Administrative Director of Parliament, reminded the law about preventing the turban in public institutions and said that he will put this issue on the agenda of the first Chairmanship Council meeting.
All personnel of Turkish Parliament should work according to the obligations of 657 state personnel law. Not only the parliament’s personnel, but also the press who works at parliament should obey the apparel regulations.
The turbanned advisers of AKP Ali Ibis, Lokman Ayva, Avni Dogan and Faruk Unsal, are set to cause considerable controversy at parliament.Yetenc stated that; “These advisers receive their salaries from the parliament which is a public institution, therefore the personnel of parliament should obey the rules of the dress code.”
