Clashes Kill 165 Iraqis, Wound 600
About 75 people were killed and 148 wounded in the Shiite-dominated Al-Sharkiya district of Kut, during massive overnight bombings followed by a major assault by US marines on Shiite resistance in Najaf earlier Thursday.
