Christian Appearance Appeals to Al-Qaeda
Al-Qaeda masterminds reportedly prefer lighter skinned agents since Arabic features draw a great deal of attention nowadays. The American media reports that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) sent a warning to all offices nationwide, claiming that the terrorists act like Christians in order to conceal their identities.
After the warning, security forces began to review the list of suspects who have never been involved in an incident. American security forces fear that an attack could come from an Al-Qaeda cell already operating in the US.
US Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge explained that no information has been submitted on anyone so far. "Our eyes are open. If we are given a name, we will immediately apprehend the suspect."
According to the intelligence, Al-Qaeda plans to use terrorists of different nationalities since Arabs are too conspicuous. For instance, Bosnians, Chechens and Western Europeans are among those. Ridge informed that everyone is suspicious of Middle Easterners; however, he maintained that the Department of Homeland Security believes that terrorists have no certain race or ethnic background.
High-ranking intelligence officials disclose that Al-Qaeda militants and supporters have been coming to the US since 1990, and some are still thought to be in the country. In particular, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia, Michigan and California are among the areas terrorists are likely to hit. They do not contact each other at all and they do not have relations with the organization; however, when the time comes they will be ready for action.
