CHP: Turkish soldiers blood is auctioned
ANKARA – Opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) group deputy head Oguz Oyan reproached US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld’s words as countries that contribute troops and financial support to American-led military and reconstruction operations in Iraq could count on a seat at the table in decision making about the mission there.
“Taking place at the table is public auctioned, in other words the Turkish soldiers blood is public auctioned,” Oyan said.
Oyan said that Rumsfeld words mean that the amount of the support would set the amount of the fiscal assistance.”
Stating that these evaluations are entrance into a dark age, Oyan said, “Turkey must not step into this black age. It must show the strongest reaction to this call. Otherwise Turkey’s principles for establishment would be violated on condition of not showing reaction to these words.
