Chirac Plans to Meet Rice

French Foreign Minister Michel Barnier made a statement on Europe 1 radio confirming Rice’s visit.

Rice said in a phone conversation with Barnier last week that she wants to visit Paris in early February. Since France objected to the US occupation in Iraq, relations between the two countries have deteriorated.
