Car Bomb in Madrid Injures 42

A spokesperson for the Spanish Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that a car bomb exploded in front of the Ifema Congressional Hall.

Officials say 42 people were wounded in the explosion. According to a reported posted by El Pais newspaper on its official Internet site, a damaged vehicle was seen at the site of the explosion.

Police say the ETA (The Basque Separatist Movement) phoned a newspaper published in the Bask Basque region warning of a bomb explosion.

Spain’s King Juan Carlos and Mexican President Vicente Fox were expected to open the ARCO Modern Art Fair at Ifema Congressional Hall later this afternoon.
