Bush’s N. Iraq statement makes Turkey uneasy

ANKARA (AA) – US President George W. Bush’s yesterday statement saying that northern Iraq had been advancign to govern itself disturbed Ankara.

On the issue, diplomatic sources said that Ankara’s worries were expected to convey to the Washington administration as soon as possible.

The sources reminded that Turkey’s uneasiness on the region had told the US administration and the subject would be taken up once more.

Meanwhile, during the meetings with the US on troop sending issue, three different sectors were offered to Turkey.

Reaching an agreement about Turkish Army’s taking post under a Turkish commander and charging in a different sector, Turkey now had been taking up these three alternatives.

BUSH’S STATEMENT
During his adress to nation last night, Bush had said that the north of Iraq had been advancing towards governing itself.
