Bush’s Economic Adviser Resigns
In his resignation letter to Bush, Friedman wrote, "Since you have already known that, I intend to return to the private sector at the end of the year. I realize this intention and express that I am honored for your reliance on me."
Bush appointed the 66-year-old Friedman to replace Lawrence Lindsey in 2002. Friedman’s successor will be announced in the coming days.
