Bush to Pull US Troops out of Iraq Before Elections

Kerry told the Wall Street Journal that if he is elected the next president of the US he would make the decision to withdraw the troops based on the conditions on the ground, the duration of stability and the ability of the Iraqi security forces to defend their country. He did not give a definite timetable.

Kerry also alleged that Bush would withdraw 140,000 troops from Iraq in order to gain support before the elections.

White House Spokeswoman Suzy De-Francis denied Kerry’s claim.
