Bush Announces Military Redeployment Plans

Bush disclosed that a total of 100,000 men and women, including families and supporting personnel, will return to US.

Bush focused on gains in Iraq and Afghanistan in addition to pressuring his Presidential rival, Democratic Party candidate John F. Kerry, during his speech. According to the US President, the new military restructuring will be the largest reshuffling of the US military since the Cold War era.

Nearly 200,000 US troops are stationed overseas, not including the current deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. Bush said that his plan would create a "more agile and more flexible force", allowing more American soldiers to return home.
