Brits jet off on Turkey holiday for just £10.85 – including their flights and hotel
A couple are jetting away on holiday for less than the price of two pints in a UK airport.
Andrew Haskins undoubtedly won ‘husband of the year’ when he not only bagged a luxurious holiday for him and his wife Toni-Ann, but did so with a romantic flourish.
The construction assistant manager, from Yate in South Gloucestershire, successfully ‘Bid for a Break’ with Jet2holidays and secured a seven-night Indulgent Escape to Antalya for just £10.85, after bidding a number made up of the date he met his wife and his birth year.

After Andrew placed his bid of £10.85, he was told he had entered the lowest unique bid and purchased the seven-night Indulgent Escapes holiday for two adults to the NG Phaselis Bay LifeStyle Resort in Antalya for that same price.
A recent study found that the the average cost for a pre-holiday pint of beer at a UK airport is now an eye watering £6.75, while the average price of a glass of prosecco is £9.59.
Andrew said: “My wife, Toni-Ann, and I have entered Bid for a Break a few times, but until now have not been successful. I saw on Instagram that the competition had relaunched and decided to give it another go. The winning amount is a combination of the date I met my wife (10 June) and the year I was born (1985) – a silly idea that resulted in a fantastic holiday win for us! Thank you to Jet2holidays – we can’t wait to go to Antalya.”
Since its launch in 2021, Jet2holidays’ ‘Bid for a Break’ has been entered by millions of hopeful holidaymakers. After being inundated with requests for the popular campaign to return, the tour operator recently decided to bring back the campaign for a limited time, with only one remaining holiday available to bid on.
Over the last three years, other successful holidaymakers have bid on and secured getaways with Jet2holidays to destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean and Canary Islands, with successful bids starting from just 2p.
Holidaymakers have one last opportunity to do just like Andrew and bid on a break with Jet2holidays. Bidding opens at midnight on a Monday and closes at one minute to midnight on a Thursday, giving holidaymakers the chance to submit their final bids until 9 May.
The final holiday available to bid on is a seven-night VIBE getaway for two adults to the Dalmacija Places Hotel by Valamar in Split, Croatia.
All holidaymakers need to do to enter is download the Jet2 mobile app, register for a myJet2 customer account and add in their bid to the nearest pence. If their amount is the lowest and no one else has bid that same amount, they will purchase the holiday for that same price.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “Since its launch, our Bid for a Break campaign has proven extremely popular with holidaymakers. At Jet2, we’re always looking at ways to give our customers more, so that is why we wanted to bring back the campaign again and give everyone another chance to bid for a break.
“We would like to congratulate Andrew on his successful bid to secure an Indulgent Escape to Antalya for just £10.85. We hope he and his wife have a fantastic time in Turkey. With just one more holiday available to bid on over the next week, holidaymakers still have the opportunity to pay as little as just a few pence for their next getaway.”
