Bolivian President Announces Resignation

Mesa said road barricades, nationwide protests against the government, and recent demonstrations by various political and social organizations are clogging up the country’s future.

Mesa came to power in October of 2003 when former president Gonzalo Sanchez De Lozada was forced to resign after violent protests left 56 people dead.
