Body of Turkish engineer Erder sent to Ankara
BAKU (AA) – Body of Turkish engineer Tolga Erdem, who was killed in Afghanistan, was sent from Azerbaijani capital Baku to Ankara on Monday.
The plane of Azerbaijani Airways (AZAL) carrying body of Erdem took off from the Bine Airport earlier in the day.
Erdem, 29, was killed when unidentified assailants attacked his car along the Kabul-Kandahar highway in Shahjoy district on March 5, 2004. Another Turkish engineer was kidnapped in the armed attack. They were working on a U.S.-funded project to pave the highway. Erdem’s body was taken from Afghanistan to Baku yesterday.
