Baykal Pleased with New Headmen Joining CHP

At a ceremony for the new members, the CHP leader gave them the party badges.

After the ceremony, to a question: “Does the 28 March 28 poll signify a Republic referendum?” he replied, “To be honest, I was not expecting a formation of this size. Why then these 44 people joined the CHP? Because they consider this election significant and they believe in the importance of keeping the CHP in the local Antalya administration. While making this decision, they are observing the tension and the debates that happening in Turkey.”
