Baykal criticizes govt’s Cyprus policy

ANKARA (AA) – The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) draws lines on Cyprus issuem says opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) adding, “Because the government has not yet decided who to listen and who could be the reference.”

“The government seems weak against the foreign countries’ tendencies, suggestions and demands. On the other hand, it sees that this submission unacceptable in terms of Cyprus’s condition and Turkey’s own legal rights,” Baykal said.

Claiming that it’s not possible to mention about an original and decisive Cyprus policy, Baykal said that the foreigners try to follow policies to put pressure on Turkey.

Asked about deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin’s statements as the government does not thrusts in laws, Baykal said, “It’s a dramatic view. The governing party has no right to harshly claim basic institutions of the state.”
