Baghdad: Shiites hold anti-US protest in Baghdad
The protesters passed out leaflets with a list of demands that said the United States was the number one source of terrorism in all its forms, in all ways and at every level of life.
They also claimed that the offices of the Hawza in Najaf had been ransacked by US troops. Shiites make up about 60 percent of the Iraqi population but were brutally suppressed by Saddam’s secular, mainly Sunni Muslim regime. US forces took range security measures during the protest.
