Baghdad: Bremer defends US occupation in Iraq

"It’s important to remember this and look beyond the shootouts and blackouts and remind ourselves of the range of rights Iraqis enjoy today because of the coalition’s military victory." Bremer raised the alarm once again about the terrorist threat in Iraq, specifically from Ansar al-Islam, a radical Iraqi Islamist group, and foreign militants. "The threat from terrorism certainly does involve Ansar al-Islam which may have as many as a couple of hundred of terrorists who slipped back into Iraq after the war," Bremer told reporters.
