Back in Rhodes After 15 Years

The foreign minister spent his free time sightseeing and inspecting historical sites. He viewed old Turkish works of art such as the building complex of Murat Reis, an Ottoman captain, the castle of the Knights of Rhodes and Suleymaniye Mosque. Gul later visited the site of an Ottoman kitchen constructed during the time of Suleyman the Magnificent to feed the poor. Visiting the library of Hafiz Ahmet Aga, which contains approximately 2,500 books, most of which date from the 15th century, Gul inspected a Koran from the 1400s. Gul then paid a visit to the Sultan Mustafa and Ibrahim Pasa mosques. After chatting for a while with the imam of Ibrahim Pasa Mosque, which is open for worship, Gul performed his noon prayer.
