The figures are impressive: 117.36 tons of tomatoes valued at 66.44 thousand US dollars, marking a 230-fold increase in value compared to the same period in 2022.
Tomatoes: The New Gold Rush
The report further emphasizes that the volume and value of Turkish tomato exports to Azerbaijan have soared by 11.4 times and 11 times, respectively, compared to 2022. The Eastern European country has purchased products worth 91 million 983 thousand dollars, underscoring its significant role in Turkiye’s tomato export growth. In a statement from the Greenhouse Investors and Producers Association, the increase in tomato exports is hailed as a positive impact on Turkiye’s economy.
