Asad: Iraq Unprepared for Elections

Asad told Al-Hayat newspaper, which is published in Arab countries, that democratic elections require unanimous participation of the people, but says the conditions in Iraq have not yet matured since the majority is refusing to participate in the elections.

Asad said there will be problems whether Iraq holds the elections or postpones them and said Syria is most concerned about a possible disintegration of Iraq.
