Arinc: Turkey needs progress in human rights

Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said today that everybody had bad experiences over the years concerning human rights, adding that with the efforts of “Light for peace and democracy” movement, Turkey was a much better place.

Speaking after a meeting with the movement’s representatives, he said Parliament had passed many reforms last year, adding that Parliament Human Rights Commission was overseeing many cases all around the country.

He admitted that Turkey needed to take more steps in order to reach the human rights level the people deserve
