Anti-Secular National View was Invited to Protocol

IGMG Confirmed

Yavuz Celik Karahan, IGMG’s Chairman and Oguz Ucuncu, IGMG’s Secretary General, will reportedly attend the meeting, which will be held in the Turkhouse, affiliated to the Berlin Consulate of Turkey, among the representatives of associations on September 2. Mehmet Gedik, deputy of Karahan confirmed that they received an invitation letter and the Chairman and Secretary General would attend the meeting. Gedik said that some other associations connected to them were also invited.

Effect Of Circular Letter

It attracted attentions that, the National View entered state protocol as soon as the circular letter, sent by the Foreign Ministry to the diplomatic missions to “embrace the citizens” except for those who took part in terrorist activities or acted against Turkey, entered into force.

(The circular drew big public reaction at that time, causing suspicions that the National View-rooted AKP government was in fact paving way to include the National View, their roots, to the state protocol)

Europe National View Organizations (AGMT), whose name was changed into Islamic Society National View (IGMG), was founded in Koln in 1985.

According to 2002 report of the German Institution of Protecting Federal Constitution, IGMG had 26 thousand 500 members by 2002. The report states that the group is working to re-Islamize the Turkish society and to turn the secular system in Turkey into an Islamic “just order.”
