Annan Wants an Alternative
According to NTV news, Annan asked for an alternative that conforms to the schedule presented in the invitation letter and postponed the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Greek-Cypriot Leader Tasos Papadopoulos complained about the Turkish side to Annan and said, "Last time, the negotiations did not reach a solution because of Denktas’ attitudes." As for Annan, he stated that retroactive evaluations are outdated. At this, Papadopoulos demanded that the Turkish side submit a written statement accepting Annan’ s conditions. Annan responded to Papadopulos by saying, "If they came here, that means that they accepted preconditions, subscription in writing is not necessary."
