Ankara busy with Cyprus developments
The recent developments in the Cyprus dispute will be evaluated in the council of ministers meeting on Monday.
Following the ministry council meeting, the Cyprus issue will be appraised in the National Security Council (NSC) meeting the same day. NSC, chaired by President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, will convene at 14.30 p.m.
The meeting, in which the fourth and the final Cyprus plan submitted by United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan to both Turkish and Greek Cypriot sides in Switzerland’s Burgenstock, is one of the most important NSC meetings in the republican history.
NSC’s tendency will be determined in Monday’s meeting.
“Turkey, which has launched the current process, sincerely supports and continues to support the efforts to find a just and permanent solution in Cyprus,” NSC had said on Thursday.
