American Muslim Leaders Compliment Turkey

The American Muslim leaders expressed their optimism that Turkey could serve as a role model for the Muslim world. In addition, they stressed the importance of increased dialogue and voiced their discomfort about identification of Islam with terrorism. Muslim leaders also emphasized the positive contributions that Turkey can provide in helping to achieve these goals.

On the other hand, it was noted the day before that Jewish leaders appreciated Turkey’s contribution towards Middle East Peace. Erdogan thanked Jewish leaders for lobby activities on behalf of Turkey. Among the representative of the Jewish community that Erdogan met were: the U.S.- Israel Public Relations Committee, the American Jewish Committee, The Republican Jewish Coalition, The Orthodox Union, and the American Sephardic Federation.
