Alpay slams Taylor game playing
"At the start of the season we had an agreement in principle with Fulham but because of Graham Taylor´s tricky games I couldn´t agree to sign. They wouldn´t let me go," said Alpay.
Alpay, who joined the English Premiership side from Turkish side Fenerbahce for 5.6 million pounds (8.12 million dollars) in 2000, believes his Villa career effectively came to an end when he asked Taylor for a transfer.
He told the News Of The World: "After I signed a transfer request, I was put out of the team. Villa have just been playing games with me.
"So he told me then that I had to sign a formal piece of paper which was a transfer request. As soon as I signed it my career at Villa went the wrong way."
