AGS wins Sulaimaniya Airport contract in Northern Iraq

According to the USD 34 million contract, AGS will build two 3,500 meter runways, taxiways, administrative buildings, service buildings, control tower, electronics and approach facilities. The terminal building will be finished by late May while the rest of the airport construction will be completed in eight months.

AGS, subsidiary of Turkish contracting company AGE based in Ankara, said in a statement it is extremely pleased with the new airport contract and will now concentrate its efforts to expand its base in Sulaimaniya and Erbil where it has offices. In Erbil, AGS is negotiating the construction of student dormitories worth $20 million. The same company had already won the USD 4.2 million contract for the construction of the airport terminal building three months ago.
