US Secretary of State Powell who replied the journalists’ questions in Elmendorf airbase in Alaska before he sets off his Asia tour said "There is no agreement reached at the moment, but there have been some developments in the last 12 hours." Powell who said "We are trying to see how much flexibility there is in the use of $6 billion in order to be able to give financial support in the following months" has been the first American authority to officially talk on figures. Powell also stated that difficult matters can be settled after heavy discussions of 2-3 days and that the note might be brought to the Assembly by Turkish government in the beginning of the week in case a solution is found.
