Agents experience Greece and Turkiye on easyJet holidays Unpacked Fam
A group of more than 40 agents headed off to Greece and Turkiye for easyJet holidays’ latest Unpacked Fam trip.
Flying from Gatwick, Manchester, Bristol, Edinburgh, Birmingham and Belfast, the agents were split into groups and visited a range of hotels in Rhodes, Greece and Dalaman, Turkiye.
As well as viewing properties and going on daily excursions, there was a competition where groups were given daily challenges, such taking pictures in different locations with an easyJet teddy bear mascot, and creating social media content.
Travel Gossip spoke to four agents who attended the fam trip.
Pauline Hill, Rosemount Travel (part of Scotland-based Glen Travel)
“I have been in travel for 40 years, and while I have been to Rhodes and Turkiye, I hadn’t been to these areas. It’s given me the confidence to sell the destinations post-trip now.
I am also a real supporter of easyJet holidays. Given I live in Scotland, it’s great to have the regional departures available.
One of the standout events for me was the trip to Ronda restaurant in Rhodes Town. It was a beautiful outdoor venue by the sea with fireworks and music, and somewhere I’d recommend to clients.
In Turkiye, we had dinner above the clouds at the 1700 Babadag Grill & Bar. You take a cable car up the mountain and the views are spectacular – something I will never forget. We also had such a great time as a group. There was a real team spirit with the tasks and we had a special bond. There was a lot of laughter with the hard work.”
Emma Parkin, Independent Travel Experts
“It was such a brilliant trip and the organisation from the easyJet holidays team was just excellent. I have only been in travel for the last couple of years and everybody just treated me like family.
In terms of the destinations, I know the area we visited in Turkiye quite well as my dad lives there, but I hadn’t visited any of the hotels before so it was ideal to see them in person. I can talk to clients about what they are like, rather than just the area.
Since I have come back from the trip, people have been really engaged with my social media and I have some quotes out to clients for a couple of the hotels we visited. The fact I have seen places means I can build that trust with clients, which in turn will count towards more bookings.”
Jason Boull, Boullies Luxury Travel (part of Not Just Travel)
“I loved the trip – from the fun challenges with the bear, to getting a ferry across from Rhodes to Turkiye.
My key takeaways from the trip were the fact I got to see so many amazing properties that I didn’t know much about. For example, the XO Cape Arnna in Fethiye is a whole other level. It’s five star and only opened earlier this year. From the design of the hotel to the kids’ club, it’s just superb.
“It was my first time to Greece too, so it was so nice to see it. I now know from my own experience that there is so much available for a wide variety of customers. I have been suggesting hotels we visited to clients.”
Suzanne Elwick, Branch Manager, Hays Travel Didsbury
“The trip was so well organised and one of the best I have been on. It was great to see the areas outside of the resorts too as clients like to be more adventurous. I am now equipped to give recommendations with first-hand knowledge.
I loved one of the hotels we saw in Rhodes – the Grecotel LUXME Dama Dama – it really blew me away. It had great facilities for families including accommodation with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. For customers who wanted adult-only areas there were plenty of facilities too – so it’s great for all clients.
In Turkiye we visited Liberty Signa hotel – and the kids club facilities there were brilliant. It even had an entertainment section where they can make their own podcasts. I don’t think I have seen that before!”
