Afghanistan seeks security aid from Turkey
The requests came on Tuesday from Afghanistan’s Vice President and Defence Minister Mohammad Fahim Khan, who is in Turkey for a series of meetings with senior Turkish officials.
Khan sought Turkey’s help in providing training and support for the army, training of police forces and health issues during his meetings in Ankara. Among those the visiting Afghani Vice President met with on Tuesday were Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül and Defence Minister Vecdi Gönül.
He also requested that Turkey continue to contribute to International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) operating in Afghanistan.
